The SSS 3 Food and Nutrition course is the final stage of the senior secondary curriculum,
designed to prepare learners for their WAEC and NECO examinations and for
life-long healthy living. It brings together all major concepts in food science, diet planning, and practical cookery,
helping students refine their skills in meal preparation, presentation, and food management.
Learners explore how nutrition affects health and performance, studying advanced food combinations,
nutrient balance, and meal adaptation for different people and purposes. The course includes
project-based lessons and hands-on kitchen activities that build
confidence, precision, and creativity in real cooking situations.
The course uses interactive video lessons, hands-on cooking sessions, and
real-life projects to blend theory with practice. Each topic focuses on developing a balance between
scientific understanding and culinary creativity.
Students will complete assignments and kitchen-based projects that test their planning, timing, and presentation skills.
This approach ensures readiness for both academic examinations and professional applications in food and nutrition careers.
