The SSS 2 Food and Nutrition course expands students’ knowledge of food composition,
diet planning, and the science behind healthy eating. It builds on foundational nutrition concepts from SSS 1
while introducing more advanced topics like food preservation, storage, and menu planning for various individuals
and occasions.
This course bridges scientific theory with hands-on cooking experience, encouraging learners to experiment with
food preparation and explore creative ways to present and serve nutritious meals. Students also study hygiene,
budgeting, and food management, ensuring they understand how to maintain both health and efficiency in food service.
Lessons are delivered through a mix of video tutorials, step-by-step cooking demonstrations,
and interactive quizzes that strengthen both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Each topic encourages learners to apply what they learn by preparing real dishes, planning menus, and practising
professional presentation techniques.
Students are also guided through reflective assignments that help them connect nutrition knowledge with everyday life —
from eating healthy at home to understanding how diet affects well-being and performance.
The SSS 2 Food and Nutrition course empowers learners to make informed dietary choices,
plan nutritious meals, and apply food science principles to promote better health and well-being.
